Which Samsung Galaxy Devices Won’t Get the One UI 6.0 Update? Find Out Here

Samsung One UI 6

Samsung, the electronics company from South Korea typically introduces its new Android updates with a delay. Once they begin, they continue to roll out the update to numerous devices globally. We anticipate a similar approach for the upcoming One UI 6.0 software, which is built upon Android 14. However, there’s an important consideration: certain popular devices from a few years ago won’t be receiving this new software update.

The beta upgrade has already begun rolling out to various Galaxy devices, commencing with the Galaxy S23 series in specific regions. Every smartphone user is eager to discover if their device is among the models scheduled to receive the update. However, there’s a contrasting aspect: certain Galaxy smartphones might not be eligible for the upcoming One UI 6.0 upgrade. This is unexpected, especially considering that a number of high-end premium Galaxy smartphones won’t be receiving the One UI 6.0 update.

Samsung adheres to its customary practice of discontinuing certain older models to focus on their newer offerings, all while maintaining a robust Android upgrade support policy. Previously, reports indicated that a range of models, including the Galaxy S23, S22, and S21 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A53, Galaxy M54, and Galaxy M53, are all potential candidates to receive the One UI 6.0 update.

Taking a closer look, we can anticipate a roster of devices that won’t be in line for the new One UI skin. Notably, the Galaxy S20 series, comprising the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra, all released in 2020, fall into this category. This might be due to their completion of the service term limit. Similarly, the Galaxy Note 20 and the much-adored Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also share this status. Their final update will be Android 13 over One UI 5.1.1. Lastly, focusing on foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the pioneer foldable device from the company, won’t be receiving any further updates.

In contrast, the Galaxy S21 series, introduced in the same lineup just a few months ago, is slated to receive the One UI 6 update built on Android 14. While these Samsung Galaxy smartphones won’t be getting Android 14 or One UI 6.0, it’s reasonable to anticipate that they will continue to receive firmware security updates. It’s important to note that the list of devices ineligible for the upgrade hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

Following Samsung’s software update approach, we’ve compiled a list of Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets that won’t be eligible to receive the One UI 6.0 update, built on Android 14. Here’s the rundown of products that won’t receive the update:
