Xiaomi 14 Pro to bring a 5000mAh battery with 120W charging

Xiaomi 14 Pro

The Xiaomi 13 series may be relatively new to our ears, especially for those in Europe and other global markets. But in this constantly evolving tech world, we can’t stop the spread of the first Xiaomi 14 Pro leaks and rumors. Today, there is a new leak about the rumored Xiaomi 14 Pro, this time from the tipster Digital Chat Station.

According to Xiaomi, we won’t have a mid-year upgrade for the flagship lineup. In other words, the company will not launch a Xiaomi 13S series as it did in the past years. For that reason, we expect rumors on the Xiaomi 14 series to appear earlier than usual. As the company’s most important lineup of smartphones, it’s natural to see expectations rising for these next flagship devices.

The Chinese tipster took to Weibo to share some of the possible specs coming with the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Since the phone’s alleged release is still several months away, take these details with a grain of salt. In any case, the tipster has a solid track record when it comes to leaks. He was one of the most accurately revealed the Xiaomi 13 series details prior to its release. So he has built a solid reputation in the past two years. Now, DCS brings details about the upcoming smartphone’s processor, battery, and more on Chinese social media.

Xiaomi 14 Pro – New Details Have Been Tipped

If we go for Xiaomi’s past releases, we can expect the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro to launch around December. The phones are expected to be among the first to feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which the tipster confirms will be at the core of the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

Besides the new chipset, the tipster confirms the charging and battery details of the phone.  This particular info is a bit intriguing.

As per DCS, the phone will pack a 5,000 mAh battery. The intriguing part is that he points to 90W/120W fast charging. He does not clarify why two distinct charging speeds have been tipped. To recall, the Xiaomi 13 has 90W charging, and the Xiaomi 13 Pro brings 120W charging. So what is the point here? There is some speculation rising around the launch of two Xiaomi 14 Pro variants. One may sport a flat display and another one would bring a curved panel. This is still a rumor, but if true, then the charging could be different between these variants. In any case, both would bring 50W wireless charging which has been a norm for Xiaomi phones.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro is also rumored to bring a Quad HD+ display. The panel will likely be made on OLED and will support a high refresh rate.

Improved cameras and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra design

The Xiaomi 14 Pro is also rumored to come with upgraded cameras and WLG High-Lens sensors. The Leica tuning will remain as the icing on the cake. There is also speculation on a new periscope zoom camera. Worth noting, that we may also see a new design language.

Xiaomi’s Design Director of the Industrial Design Department, Wei Xu, recently said that the Xiaomi 14 Pro will bring a design similar to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was one of the most interesting designs in the series. The device brought a unique rear display along with the camera. It could be used as a viewfinder. Unfortunately, that design was ditched in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra. We are curious to see if it’s really coming with the next generation.

I don’t need to repeat that all this needs to be treated with a grain of salt. Until official info comes from Xiaomi, most of these details should be treated as rumors.
