Infinix showcases its 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber tech

Infinix

Infinix may not be the most trending or the most popular smartphone maker. However, the company has been making interesting advancements in technology coming in its devices. Although it focuses mostly on mid-range smartphones, we expect Infinix to improve its range of devices soon. After all, the company is preparing the terrain for an impressive 180 W ThunderCharge system. Now, it has also introduced its new Infinix 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber technology. The tech comes to improve the performance and reduce the temperature of the device.

Infinix 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber reduces temperature by 3 °C

According to Infinix, in comparison to conventional designs, its 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber Tech reduces the temperature of the chipset by 3 °C. The company’s tech improves the contact between the chipset and the vapor chamber itself. The Phone VCs are typically flat. It requires the use of the thermal paste to mate the chipset and Vapor Chamber. The 3D VCC design has a “bump”. It leaves just a small gap between the chamber and the chipset. Interestingly, the bump increases the internal volume of the VC. Therefore it can hold more water.

The design does not come with its own set of challenges. The vapor chambers are purely passive elements. These rely on a wicking material that transfers the condensed water from the cool part of the phone back to the hot areas. In these hot areas, it can evaporate again. The bump disrupts the normal flow. Therefore, Infinix Research and Development Team had to figure out how to restore it. The solution was to use a sophisticated capillary structure with advanced welding tech.

Infinix now wants to improve the design further. Therefore, we don’t know if it’s ready to come on any device. Infinix wants to make the 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber Technology thinner. Therefore, it can give more bumps and effectively cool other heat-generating components. The company is also investigating new materials and integrating the 3D VCC with the phone’s middle frame.

Infinix plans a new flagship smartphone dubbed Infinix Zero Ultra. It may bring the 180W ThunderCharge System. Will the 3C VCC tech be ready for it? Time will tell.
