Infinix GT 10 Pro with 260W charging is coming soon

Infinix GT 10 Pro

Infinix and Tecno are two brands from the same Transsion Holdings group that proved they can also play among the big. Tecno showed its powers in the flagship territory and even has a great foldable smartphone (check our review here). Infinix also wants to prove itself as a great house of cutting-edge technologies. Last year, we saw the Infinix Zero Ultra with 180W charging. Now, the brand plans to boost its charging capabilities with its All-Round Fast-Charg tech. The upcoming Infinix GT 10 Pro will be launched soon with 260W fast charging and 110W wireless charging.

As per a new report, it seems that Infinix is set to soon overcome Realme and its 240W charging. The new phone will take the crown of the world’s fastest charging device. We have to say that we are very curious to see this technology. After all, the current USB Type-C 3.1 standard supports up to 240W charging. Realme has basically hit the roof of this standard with the Realme GT Neo 5 / GT3. Now, Infinix says it will go beyond this with 260W charging – is it really possible?

Gizchina News of the week

As per the report, the Infinix GT 10 Pro will bring a 5,000 mAh battery. That’s an impressive capacity if it’s coming with 260W charging. After all, it’s challenging to pair these faster-charging standards with huge batteries. The tests were actually conducted with a 4,400 mAh battery. The 260W charging solution completed the charge in just 8 minutes, it may be a little above that with a 5,000 mAh capacity.

Understanding the All-Round Fast-Charging tech

You might be curious about the new charging standard coming with the Infinix GT 10 Pro. According to Infinix, this is an upgrade for the 180W Thunder Charge. It upgrades the tech with a 12C battery with a 4-pump circuit design. The system intelligently identifies power requirements and allocates the number of charge pumps needed. The brand states that the charging efficiency is 98.5%. Moreover, the 4,400 mAh battery can keep 90% of its initial capacity after 1,000 cycles. The charger uses a combination of GaN material and AHB circuit infrastructure with higher power density. The cable is also part of the system, and Infinix employs one with 13A to ensure 260W charging.

260W Fast-Charging

There is also 110W wireless charging coming with the Infinix GT 10 Pro. It uses custom-made small-sensitive coils with a new design. It works to reduce internal resistance and to keep the phone’s temperature cold. Interestingly, the company will provide a 110W charger with a dual-coil design for both vertical and horizontal charging. The station also has a fan to improve heat dissipation.

There is no word on the Infinix GT 10 Pro release date, but we expect it to come very soon. Worth noting, that the new phone will serve as a replacement for the Zero series. So the charging revolution that started with the Infinix Zero Ultra will not be carried over by the Infinix GT series. Once this device gets available, it will be the leading phone in the fast-charging race. It’s quite promising, but we are curious to see the real-world performance of this system, and whether it is really above the 240W charging limit of USB Type-C ports.
