If you can recall, Apple unveiled the iPhone Mini phones with the launch of the iPhone 12 Mini. This launch was a dream come true for iPhone users who like to have a small and compact phone but didnât want to sacrifice in terms of performance and core specs.
Apple did release a successor after the initial introduction, the iPhone 13 Mini. That was the result of positive feedback from the users of the predecessor. But you may have noticed that thereâs no iPhone Mini in the iPhone 14 lineup. While Apple didnât say anything officially regarding this, it was pretty clear why the Cupertino giant decided to skip the phone in the current series.
Itâs because the iPhone 13 Mini had poor sales across the board. A report from Counterpoint research focused on the sale performance of the entire iPhone 13 series after Apple released the lineup. According to it, the Mini model had a paltry 5%, while the regular iPhone 13 had 51%, 13 Pro Max at 23%, and 13 Pro at 21%.
The sales performance didnât improve much afterward, which is why Apple decided to skip the iPhone Mini in the iPhone 14 lineup. And now, it seems there wonât be any Mini model in the upcoming iPhone 15 series.

Apple May Discontinue the iPhone Mini After the Event Set for Today
As noted by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, an industry expert, the stock of iPhone 13 Mini is running low. The Apple online store in the U.S. is now quoting a 2â3-week shipping estimate for some models and up to 6-8 weeks for a few others. This high shipping estimate hints at a shortage of supply.
And the shortage of iPhone Mini model supply is eventually suggesting that Apple may discontinue the Mini phones entirely after the âWanderlustâ event set for today. So, if you want to purchase a Mini iPhone, now might be your last chance.
For those wondering, the new iPhone 15 series that Apple will unveil today will come with a 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch 15 Plus, 6.1-inch 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch 15 Pro Max. We will offer in-depth coverage regarding the event today, so stay tuned.
